Texas Push Pickup Set

Main Voice — Thick, expressive Texas-inspired Strat character with rich mids, rounded highs, and the extra authority to bring an valve amp alive sooner while preserving classic vintage clarity.

Best For — Texas blues, blues rock, edge-of-breakup playing, expressive lead work, and players wanting a fuller, vintage Strat voice with a little more natural drive.

Feel — Bold, vocal, dynamic, responsive, and naturally sustaining.

Works Well With — Blackface, Silverface, Tweed and British-style valve amps.

There are certain sounds that seem to sit right on the edge of clean and driven, where every note feels thicker, more vocal, and more expressive without losing the unmistakable articulate character of a Strat. Texas Push was designed around that feeling: a vintage-inspired Strat pickup set with just enough extra authority to help an amplifier come alive sooner, while retaining the clarity, balance, and touch sensitivity that define great single coils.

The Texas Push Pickup Set for Stratocasters are a hand-wound, Texas-inspired set that builds on the foundations of a traditional vintage Strat voice with a carefully judged increase in output. The result is a fuller, more authoritative response with rich lower mids, rounded treble, and a tight, supportive low end that stays clear as the amp begins to work harder. There is plenty of bite and definition available, but without the brittle edge that can make some brighter Strat pickups feel thin, or unforgiving.

At the heart of the set is a neck pickup with a thick, vocal character that encourages expressive lead playing while remaining open enough for decent note separation. It has the warmth and weight to produce long, singing notes, yet still responds well to changes in pick attack, and rolling off the guitar’s volume control.

Positions 2 and 4 remain unmistakably Strat, combining the familiar hollow character and airy clarity of the classic in-between sounds, but with a little more body beneath each note. The middle pickup stays balanced and articulate, while the hotter bridge delivers greater authority, presence, and sustain without losing the character and definition expected from a Strat bridge pickup.

Built with Alnico 5 magnets and 42 AWG Plain Enamel wire, Texas Push captures the bold, expressive spirit of classic Texas blues while remaining versatile enough to cover far more than one style. The additional output helps lower-wattage valve amplifiers reach those rich edge-of-breakup tones more readily, yet the set remains equally at home through larger clean platforms, where its dynamic response, fuller voice, and unmistakable character continue to shine.

Voice: Texas-inspired Strat character • fuller vintage voice • vocal neck leads • unmistakably Strat in-between positions • rich lower mids • rounded treble • authoritative bridge

Feel: expressive attack • natural sustain • touch-sensitive response • dynamic under the fingers • cleans up beautifully from the guitar’s volume control

Amp and speaker pairing: A natural match for Tweed, Blackface, Silverface, valve amps, though the set also handles British-style valve amps well too. Particularly rewarding with lower-wattage valve amps, where the additional output helps the amplifier reach its sweet spot, at more manageable volumes.
